I have had the privilege of being able to provide gowns for babies receiving the Sacrament of Baptism. Below is one I made for my little cousin. The priest who baptized him said it is the nicest gown he has ever seen! I am honored by his compliment

Accents
Though First Communion Dresses are traditionally white, it is possible to accent them subtly with other colors. The dress below is fully lined with white cotton, has a satin bodice and skirt, and has a light, embroidered, beaded over skirt. The classy 3/4 length sleeves are also made from the over skirt material.
Sleepy-time
Sometimes is it nice to just curl up in a cozy, wearable blanket--a flannel nightgown! This one has long sleeves, lace edging the neckline and sleeves, and a button to close it in the back.
Pretty in Pink
Do you have a fancy occasion to attend soon? Do you have ideas of what sort of dress you would like your little girl to wear? Or, maybe she has a dream-dress that needs to be created just for her. These sorts of projects excite me! I am thrilled to take your ideas and work with you to make a dress that is just-right.
The one below was made to perfectly match a pattern we found at the fabric store. The bodice is fully lined and the skirt has two layers: an underskirt of complimentary material edged with lace and an over skirt which displays little rosettes sewn all along the ruffle.

Stars and Ice Cream
A girl I know really enjoyed the freedom and girly-ness of having simple, cotton dresses that she could wear to church, parties, visiting Gramma, or attending school. As a result I sewed her a few dresses that met these criteria. The dress has a neckline decorated with a small, scalloped collar, zips up the back, and is made with a light, fun, patterned material.

Sweet and simple
A few years ago my grandmother asked me to sew my cousin a First Communion dress that was "sweet and simple". Since the dress was not to have adornments I chose a material that was in and of itself quite pretty. It was soft, slightly stretchy, a little heavy, and had imprinted patterns all over it.

Ideas
These two girls are modeling a couple dress ideas for your perusal. The first one has an embroidered overlay for the bodice and sleeves, with a satiny body and tie, and an in-sewn underskirt. The second also has a full-body satiny underlay but on top of the skirt is a light, thin, gauzy material. The back has a bow with a rose in the middle. Around the neck is a layer of 3" lace.
Customizing
Each individual has his or her own style. This is part of what makes sewing for others such fun! I have the opportunity to create results I could not have imagined but that others were able to envision. I would like to have the honor of doing the same for you. I have many, many patterns full of ideas. You can also bring me patterns or pictures of what you would like and I am usually able to make something quite similar to your wishes. I am always happy to dialogue about the various options you have at your disposal. Please feel free to contact me by email (located under "view complete profile").
How Cost is Configured
Since each item I sew takes its own unique amount of time, research, and dedication the fairest way I can configure pricing is as follows:
-Hourly wage: $8.00
-Cost of material, notions (thread, zipper, etc): on your own. Most people bring me the materials they desire me to work with. I then only charge for my hours. However, if you prefer, I can gather the fabric and essential items and just add on the fabric store total to the final bill.

Simplicity
Sometimes a little girl just needs that cute, simple, cotton dress that she can wear to both church and picnics. I have sewn more of these than I can recall! They are easy to dress up or down, customize, and make to please both mom and daughter. Below are the two most recent.
