Sweet and simple

A few years ago my grandmother asked me to sew my cousin a First Communion dress that was "sweet and simple". Since the dress was not to have adornments I chose a material that was in and of itself quite pretty. It was soft, slightly stretchy, a little heavy, and had imprinted patterns all over it.

Ideas

 These two girls are modeling a couple dress ideas for your perusal. The first one has an embroidered overlay for the bodice and sleeves, with a satiny body and tie, and an in-sewn underskirt. The second also has a full-body satiny underlay but on top of the skirt is a light, thin, gauzy material. The back has a bow with a rose in the middle. Around the neck is a layer of 3" lace.

Customizing

Each individual has his or her own style. This is part of what makes sewing for others such fun! I have the opportunity to create results I could not have imagined but that others were able to envision. I would like to have the honor of doing the same for you. I have many, many patterns full of ideas. You can also bring me patterns or pictures of what you would like and I am usually able to make something quite similar to your wishes. How Cost is Configured

Since each item I sew takes its own unique amount of time, research, and dedication the fairest way I can configure pricing is as follows:

-Hourly wage: $8.00
-Cost of material, notions (thread, zipper, etc): on your own. Most people bring me the materials they desire me to work with. I then only charge for my hours. However, if you prefer, I can gather the fabric and essential items and just add on the fabric store total to the final bill.

Simplicity

Sometimes a little girl just needs that cute, simple, cotton dress that she can wear to both church and picnics. I have sewn more of these than I can recall! They are easy to dress up or down, customize, and make to please both mom and daughter. Below are the two most recent.
